Default switched battery polarity

I trickle charged battery last night.
While putting it on the bike, I switched the polarity by mistake.
Headlight, horns don't work. I don't know about the signal since those are off.
I changed main fuse and it cranks but no fire.
What are the extent of damage by switching polarity and what are the things I need to change?

Hopefully all you've done is blow every fuse on the bike.....................
and not burnt out any of the rest of it, don't forget. you've just put 12 volts through all your wiring, frame etc through the earthing wires.........

Lets hope that the ICM is ok too. Start with all the fuses first.

There is not, there is, however, an "Ignition Control Module" that does similar functions. Check all fuses, relays could have been damaged.

How do I check the relay for damage?

Any possibility of wire harness getting fried up or ignition module getting damaged too?

First, take a meter and check the polarity of your battery. Don't turn the bike on again until you've verified the +/- is correct. On most meters put the red lead on pos and the black lead on neg and you should positive numbers for DC voltage.

Next, charge your battery for 6-8 hours connected correctly. Then verify polarity and voltage of the battery. If 12-13V then turn on ignition and hope for the best.

I don't think he charged it backwards, Chain, I think he's put a fully charged battery in the bike with reverse polarity................ ie run full 12V through the earth circuits on the bike..........
Time for the Darwin awards..................

I actually did this on my bike. It blew the main fuse and torched my headlight. I replaced the main fuse (and made sure the battery was connected correctly this time) and it fired right up
