Stuck at front axle

Hi!

So I decided to refresh my rims by repainting them, but I cannot get the front wheel of! :icon_frown:
I followed the F2 manual and no success.
Removed and unscrewed everything there is but still the front axle will not come out.
I can rotate it but I cannot pull the axle out.

What am I missing? :icon_question:

It's not threaded to anything anymore, you just need to figure a way to pull it out. Insert some kind of a rod like a screw driver or thick metal wire into the holes on the end and wiggle/pull from it while GENTLY tapping the other end, with a rubber mallet if you got one so you won't screw the threads. If you have a slidehammer you can use that to pull the axel out. It can be a little stuck if it hasn't been removed for a while, it just needs some tough love. But as said, be very careful not to whack the threads with a hammer or anything, even with the nut in place! Once the axel comes out a whole lot of spacers, washers etc are gonna come loose, take note what goes to what side as they are not the same length!

Also, when you paint the rims, cover the parts where the brake discs attach to the wheel or they will wobble. Probly a stupid advice but rather said and "d'oh":ed than not said and screwed IMO...

Thanks for the great advice!
In my struggle with the axle I completely forgot about the spacers, defiantly will take a note of whats what.
I had a suspicion that painting the parts where brake discs attach may affect the brakes.
