Still Have the "CLUNK" off the gas!!!
I've been trying to find out the cause of a pretty significant "clunk" in the rear end or possibly transmission of my 1993 CBR600F2 when I roll off the gas quickly in 1st/2nd gears only. When I'm cruising around at below 4K RPM's in town or wherever and roll off the throttle quickly, there is a clunk and the bike kind of jerks, then is fine again. Mind you...only in low RPM's and only in 1st/2nd gears. The chain and sprockets are brand new and the chain is tightened to within spec's. At high RPM's....no problems and shifting in all gears is very smooth. Has anyone had a similar problem? Other than the transmission, could it be the rubber cushings in the rear wheel are worn? Trying to get a fairly good diagnosis before I start taking everything apart? Besides this one flaw, the bike is excellent. Has 42K miles on it but runs smooth as glass and still has lots of juice (at least for me). Can't beat the Honda fit and finish either. Anyway, thanks for reading this. If you have any ideas or comments....I appreciate it.
