Default Serious power problems at 11,000 rpm

Hello everyone!

My '92 Honda cbr600f2 with 24,386 miles has been running great till today.

I was motoring around at 5,000 rpm at around 35 mph..... then I punched it and the engine readily and it seemed much more quickly revved to 10 - 11,000 rpm and the bike was LOUD which is normal.

BUT this time the power or "kick" that I usually feel was not there, in fact it seemed the bike's power at that rpm was way, way off.

- bike has never had valves inspected or CCT checked

Can anyone help? The power is really off.... it is all bark and no bite.

your sayin it high reved, but ur speed stayed the same, or it high reved and gradually (instead of almost imediately) picked up?

it high revved and the speed pretty much stayed the same.

It picked up a little after, but nothing like the explosive power of before.

my power seems to really kick in at 8,000 and drops at 12,000, but I figured that's where the power-band is.

thanks for the info Fabio, but whenever I hit that max rpm the bike is really moving..no letting up.

duck, that's what other riders think. I must say just before the problem happened I was adjusting the slack in my clutch cable.

I will do some high speed runs next time I ride with the clutch all the way out.

Thanks!

Well, on my f2, I don't notice much power over 10k rpm. After that the rpm's seem kindof non-useful.

Thanks Syphen

still haven't had a chance to test it I'm in the police academy now so uber busy.

But in the past at max rpm the front end would lift a little.

Not sure on your location but I did notice if the weather is really hot, my bike will run like crap and my clutch will tend to slip slightly on heavy acceleration. As soon as the sun goes down my bike will run awesome.
