Default Running at higher RPM then usual

Hello guys, I bought my 94 F2 in june of this summer and I love it. I noticed that lately i have been running at higher RPM then before. (ie. BEFORE: at 120km/h run 6000RPM NOW: 120km/h run at 6500RPM) I was wondering if anyone knew what is starting to wear out on the bike? Thanks in advance and if no one has the right answer a push in the right direction would be just as good.

No I didn't change anything before I noticed the difference in RPM.

Slipping clutch could cause this -- but it'd have to be pretty bad to consistantly show 500rpm. Also could read higher if you put on a bigger diameter rear tire. Or could be the Tach is about to die.

umm i think that it would be opposite if you put a bigger tire on it.... a smaller tire would cause it be at a higher RPM at the same speed, maybe your tire just wore a bunch, i know 500rpm is a pretty big differnce, but im pretty sure a bigger tire would do the exact opposit

Sorry dude but if the rear tire, or rear sprocket, becomes bigger then the front sprocket has to make more turns for the back to make 1 revolution. So increasing the rear (tire or sprocket teeth) will make you turn more rpms.

Hey guys, first of all thanks for posting all you ideas here. I can't believe that it's sprocket as i didn't change it and it can't be the tire cause I noticed the change in RPMs between one ride to another (a few days apart). Other then the cluch could anything else be worn out that would cause this?

Only other thing I can think of is if the battery is starting to die -- my gauges have done some really strange things when the battery was on it's last leg.
