right handlebar switch
I just picked up a 92 f2, and I am new to the forums. The bike runs like a million dollars somehow and the guy sold it to me for just a little over $600. Anyways, I got to ride it a couple times and the starter switch broke (right handlebar switch) causing the headlight to not ever turn on and not allowing me to start up the bike.
Simple question for you guys, Will the f3 right handlebar switch work on my f2 without any sort of modification?I ask this because everyone on ebay is charging $50+ for an f2 switch, while the F3 switches are going for much less. thanks

Take apart the housing around the switch and check to see if abroken solder joint is causing your problem. It's a 5-10 minutefix and will save you a pile of money if that is indeed the what's wrong.
All of joints have been freshly resoldered, but all the plastic holding it together has been destroyed. At one point I could wiggle some of the pieces of on the inside to get it to start about 1 out of every 10 times, but the plastic was so brittle, this part broke shortly after also. Super Glue and JB weld arent gonna help me on this one. My best bet is just to pick up an f3 switch if they work
Why don't you just get the correct one for the F2? I know it's more expensive, but you'd already be back in business. Remember, you bought her for $600.00 and she runs like a million bucks. Spend another $50.00 and you are still way ahead of the game in my opinion.
Sorry guys, didn't realize it would be this easy. . .
I went onto bikebandit.com and browsed through their OEM parts section. looks like all the f2's use the same right handlebar switch, along with the early f3's (95-96),but not with 97+.
