I have been trying a heat gun on mine.. it leaves alot of adhesive.. you ould probably clean it off.. other wise if you are going to paint i would sug. a pin striping removal wheel..

I just performed the same task this weekend...You need a blow-dryer and some alchohol to remove the adhesive when you are through...Just peel back a piece with your fingernails while using the blow dryer to keep the decal warm...Try to get a big piece going or your hads will get banged up from scratching at the decals with your nails...Also be patient and slowly pull the decal off closet to the bike as you can get so that you dont rip the sticker, you have to be real patient...I took me about four hours to remove the headlight decals and both sets of the lower decals....But now it looks alot better..GL..Oh yeah,Try to leave your bike running to get the fairings warm, this helps too...

I did that on my bike... I found out that heating it made it harder, and left ALOT more adhesive for me to clean after the fact. I did one side heated and the other cold. The cold side cleaned up easier after the fact. It takes patients and time. Just start peeling back slowly to try and get larger pieces.

There is a little Pre-peel and Post-peel action. Lol
