Removing fiberglass from damaged Upper

Removing fiberglass from damaged Upper
I am currently undergoing the repair of my fairings and removal of the stickers and paint for repainting. I have a crack in my upper on the side where apparently it was already fixed with fiberglass on the inside. Is there a good way of removing the fiberglass to get it clean for repair with plastic weld? As in can I do this without damaging or putting a hole in the fairing from the inside out?

RE: Removing fiberglass from damaged Upper
I just went through a similar process with my bike, I had cracks and chunks missing. What I did was just use fiberglass to fill the areas that were missing. I scuffed the surrounding areas with 60 grit wiped it down with acetone and went to town with the glass. Sanded it out, filled, primed and it looks perfect.
Where I had chunks missing i just used duct tape to stretch over the gap and it gave me a pretty good mold to glass against and with a little sanding and filler got it perfect...
