Default rear tire size

Hey guys, just moved to a cbrf2 and i need a new rear tire, whats the widest rear tire i could fit on my stock bike still keeping the performance and stability? I have a 170 on there now, also whats a good but cheap rear tire? I was looking at the diablo or battleaxe, thanks guys.

use the search tool, this has been covered several times.

a 170 is the largest you can use on the f2 rim. You can use a 180 on an f3 rim but you sacrifice lean angle on the 180. I like the looks of the 180 (on the f3 rim) for the streetbut a 165 is best for the track. have fun with the new f2!

good but cheap rear tire
LOL...that's a bit of a contradiction. There are good and cheapER, but you get what you pay for. Is it worth saving $30 if that extra $30 may have kept you upright? Tires are one place not to skimp, they are what keeps you in the game. First you have to identify your needs from a tire. Start there then search.

And it depends on what type of riding he is doing. I bought a set of Pilot Roads for my bike and they have 3k on them and still look near new. I'm sure others would be nearly worn out with those miles.

Exactly. Tires (even though this is a 'temporary' bike) are not something to go cheap on...especially on a motorcycle! I am running Pirelli track tires which lastless than aseason at best but nothing out there grips better and because of that my F2 hangs with many of the newer 600's.

Spend your money on tires and suspension. That's the safest way to ride,no matter what you ride or how you ride.

Pilot Roads last much longer than 3k miles.Pilot Powers last longer than 3k miles .

Pirelli's are nice,but they don't last for ****e.
