Default please help!

Today I took my bike out, rode it for like 45 min. When I got home I washed it with the house and a sponge, when I was done I dried it and started it with the choke, it turned on RPMs went up to 4000 so I lowered the choke and it cut off, now it won't start and if it does it sputters for like 3 seconds and turns off.please help me figure this out I appreciate it, thanks!

Might have flooded it. First it's been an hour or so since your post.
Go try it again, see if it'll start now. If it still gives you a no show, let it sit for 24
and see if the wash got into something and needed to dry out.

No need to panic yet, see if it fixes itself.

Good luck, Ern

well you see, when you clean a motorcycle with a house the bike ends up collapsing under the immense weight of the house. just saying lol

nah, you prolly got water in the air filter, just take it out and dry it

Hopefully you didnt get water down to the carbs!

Clean the air filter first, it will take 5 minutes.

First you will have to remove the tank....
take both rear tail fairings off (they pop right off no screws needed) and take off seat ( two screws on each side)

after you pull the seat off locate and remove the main tank bolt close to where the battery sits, (there will be a rubber insert underneath the bolt)

Now go up to the front of the tank and remove the small 8mm bolt, (also has insert below bolt) de-attach the hoses from the bottom. (make sure reserve is set to off) set a side UPRIGHT.

Air filters in front of you, couple bolts surrounding it to take it off, you know what to do from there!

The seal around the gas tank is NOT good and its probable some water leaked in there...i sent my tank upside down and gas leaked out ruining about 2 inches worth of paint surrounding the tank

Good luck, shoot me with any questions you might have

I got it running I rode it home fine but I think I screwed up the idle cause it won't stay on when I take choke off and it stalls when I release clutch trying to get out of first gear... Not sure if the idle adjust is the the noob and wire next to the fuel reserve switch

My bike had an annoying habit of letting water into the #4 plug hole - the boot wasn't sealing up well and water would pool on top of the plug causing crappy spark. It would run on 3 cylinders for a while until the plug dried up, or I pulled the plug out and let the water drain into the cylinder. Then I'd bump the motor over for a quick sec to blow everything out before reinstalling the plug.

Also - it almost sounds like you might have your choke stuck on, or partially on. While you have the tank off checking the filter.

Personally I doubt you got the filter wet, considering where the intake openings are. If you did, you're shooting your water-house (lol, couldn't resist) in areas that it really doesn't need to be pointed.
