Default petcock assembly

hi guys im trying to find a diagram of the assembely of the petcock valve please if anyone can help i would deff apreciate it

can i bypass the vacuume part of the petcock valve? as long as i turn the fuel off each time i turn the bike off untill i can repair the diaphrams? will i be ok to do this so long as like i said sut the fuel off each time i turn bike off thanks for the advice

If you know that the diaphragm is faulty, then you definitely need to turn it to the off position when you're not riding, and you definitely need to disconnect the vacuum line, and plug the port near cylinder 1, as it will suck in fuel, if the diaphragm is torn, and throw off your mixture.

will deff do asap then thanks i know this is a probaly a dumb question but so long as i plug vaccume line off and turn fuel to off position every time im done riding it is ok to just bypass the vacuume portion of the petcock for now? i wont cause ant further problems or anything? thanks still learning bikes

also someone told me that the off position on some bikes is realy a purge as that it still lets some fuel by just wanted to be sure this wasint the case with my 93 f2 again thanks for the help

Yeah, you should temporarily plug the end of the vacuum line from the petcock too, as fuel will leak out that line, if the diaphragm is shot.

By the way, in regards to what I said about the little vacuum port near cylinder one, even without being connected to the petcock, that needs to be temporarily plugged, because whether it sucks in fuel, or air, it will throw off the mixture, and the bike will run funny.

What was probably meant by "purge", is that with no more fuel flowing to the carbs, you are purging the fuel lines, and eventually the float bowls, as the motor burns fuel, however, if your petcock isn't broken in another way as well, off should not let any fuel flow.
