Default Parts Sites? Need piston rings

Hello all,

Im looking to buy a set of piston rings but the only ones i can find are 200 bucks. there really cheap on ebay but i don't trust buying moto parts on there after my failed fork seals. anyone know of a place where i can buy piston rings??

Pretty sure you can buy them from Honda for $40 a set... $160.

For something like rings/bearings I wouldn't buy anything but OEM.

that blows. i might as well buy another engine.

well the engine i have right now cost me 150 bucks with 10k miles. just buying the tools and parts wouldn't be as cost effective. but then again i would be able to rebuild an engine. i have to see if there are good deals out there.

I think you should invest in the rings, as long as you're sure that's your problem. I would hate to have to buy some mystery engine off ebay for $400 (on the low side) and chance it not running. Also you run the risk that the seller lied about mileage. Stick with the trusty engine you've got, and gain some experience putting rings in.
