Default over heating.. Fan not working

Yeah so it was about 95 the other day and i was riding for a good two hours when i noticed the temp was about 3/4 the way up to red line. So i went to a gas station and parked and heard the cap like building up pressure. The fans never came on, actually since i've owned the bike last sept. I have never heard them come on but never really needed it to. So my question is how do i fix the fan? replace entire system or switches?

Also if anyone knows how to even test to see if the fan has power or what.

Thanks

check the fuse block ( the one with 4 fuses on the right side of the bike near the radiator) and see if any fuses are blown, then report back

Have you checked so there is enough cooling fluid in the system?

Checking the fan is easy. Pull the wire from the sending unit on lefthand side of radiator and connect a jumper to that wire and ground the other end to the frame. Fan should come on if fan is good and has power.

Make sure your fan spins freely, although I guess if it didn't your fuse would definitely be blown.
