I'm thinking of buying koltz synthetic 15w/50. Would this be alright?

 

Nope!!!!!!!!!!!
The bike runs a wet clutch system the highest you can use is 10W40
anything higher and youll run into problems with the bike trying to roll while you have the clutch in
it'll drag like S**t

 

no!!!! i did that and i ended up having to replace the clutch bc it soked up the 15 w50 and i couldnt go over 115 and the clutch was def sticking im sticking with motorcycle oil from now on

 

I have been using recently 10w40 castrol 4-stroke motorcycle oil, but before that I used 10w40 diesel oil for my pickup because I was in a pinch and needed oil. It worked just fine too and I heard that its supposed to be the same or better then TRUE motorcycle oil but who knows.

 

Thanks for that, saved me buying a new clutch. I'll stick to the 10w 40.

 

mobile 1 red cap is 15-50...it's been since changed to mobile 1 gold cap...
i've used it for many many miles, no issues whatsoever. others i know have also used it, some for over 60K...no issues whatsoever.
i'm not sure what brand koltz is, but around here we've all been doing mobile 1 gold/red cap without any issues.

for bikes, you just can't use anything that is energy-conserving...and 15-50 is not energy conserving.
