I run 91-92 octane. because that is what Honda recomends.. i have tryed other octanes and have noticed either a drop in performance (87) or a drop in mileage (93+).

I put the mid grade in because I know that the engine calls for premium but I can not afford that so I put in mid grade.

I put in some 87 octane when I first got my bike. I didn't now it called for 91 or whatever, butI didn't notice any pinging or anything to indicate that it needed the higher octane fuel. It wascoldweatherthough, and when it's hot the bike would be more prone to pinging. I have since started putting 93 octane in it anyway just to be safe.

Hey Hoosier1104, is that sig a Fez quote?

My owner's manual only calls for 87. I put aleast mid-grade in but at time do put premium. So I guess, 89 and 91 - 93
