About 2 weeks ago I removed my chain (its toast) waiting for spare money to buy new sprockets and chain [>:]so any way in the mean time my bike sits :(I'm in the shed lookin at it, thought Ide start it and run it for a min or two just so it don't just sit and not run, well I peek in at the front sprocket and its turning while the gear box is in neutrel, is that normal ?

Yup, it will turn a little bit, even when the chain is attached if your bike is on the center stand and running in neutral the rear tyre will start to spin slowly.

Once it has a bit of resistance, IE being on the ground, it wont have enough power to turn.

I'm not sure what causes it, just minor friction I suppose in the gearbox but it is normal.

Normal. It has to do with fluid dynamics and the wet clutch.
