just had another look at the bike.it is broken where one of the stalks comes out of the engine do you know if there is some sort of putty that i can set the new stalk in to?

 

hat do you mean broken? The bolt broke inside the aluminum? The aluminum is stripped out? Is the head cracked? If it is the latter, you may be screwed.

 

No the head is not cracked. where the stalk goes into the engine it has broken a bit so now i can see the thread from underneath.There is about 40% of the thread left intact but it wont hold that well and slips out when i screw it in. I was hoping to reset the stalk with some putty. any ideas?

 

Have it welded and re-tap it.
