Hey everyone i bought a bike and it didnt have a RR (regulator/rectifier) on it. So i bought an 03 suzuki gsxr regulator from ebay and when i tested my battery it would stay at 12.8 volts at any rev. the bike does have 52000 km on it and the stator cover is marked up pretty good. How do you check if your stator is good?

Edit: forgot to add that the bike ran on a 2 hour ride put it away didnt ride it for 2 days tried to start it and the battery was discharged? Stator? RR?

 

12.8 at any rev sounds like it was running off the battery. If you ahev checked to make sure the R/R is hooked up correctly, then follow the check procedured in the service manual. I know there is one available for download here or linked to the stephygee website. You will need a multimeter and some tools to take a few things apart for testing.
