Default New to site - Quick question on f2 / f3

Hey guys, I just had a question. I'm redoing an F2 and came across an F3 which has a fairing stay I need for the F2. I found the F2 - F3 interchange posting, which is helpful, but what I was wondering is in order to use the F3 front fairing stay, what would need to be done? Would I just need the F3 fairings, headlight, windscreen? So basically, what do I need to change to make the F3 front fairing stay work on my F2?

I apologize if this has been asked before, I searched the forum and couldn't find anything on it.

(P.S. The owner of the F3 is willing to part the bike out, so I could pick it for whatever I need.)

Yeah, I hope someone can answer this too. I have an F3 in the garage but it's my cousins and I don't think he'd be too pleased if he came over and I was dismantling his to make sure it's a possible swap lol....

But I may end up having to do that if noone answers lol...

The gauges are different also.I don't think the harnesses are the same either,so I doubt it's a quick 'n' easy swap, but don't quote me on that.

If not, pimp the F3 stay on ebay (those things are gold) and get an F2.Either way you win.

This may help answer your question: I got a 96 F3. when I first got it it had no plastics except the tail (which was off an F2 but they are the same), it had an f2 front fairing stay but no fairings. So when I finally got an F3 right upper fairing and tried to put it on I could not get it to line up. I had the old F3 stay that came off it the guy gave me but it was bent. I put the F3 stay back on and had to "tweek" it a little but the fairing went right on!! I then found a website that gave the specs for the F2 and the F3 and found out that was one of several small things that changed between F2 and F3.. the fairing and stay have a slightly different angle coming up them that improved the aerodynamics of the bike. Read that particular paragraph about half way down the page where it talks about improving the fairing. Also the F3 has the horn mounted on the stay and the F2 is mounted by the radiator.
