Default New seals for Front Forks

Hey guys, tomorrow, I'm going to replace my front fork seals because they are leaking...

Any advice or precautions I should take / tricks to make the job easier? for the seals do I just take the old ones out then place the new ones in? What oil do I use to put in them as well? Thanks in advance.

Cartridge or dampening rod forks?

Use OEM seals.

So I use OEM seals. Gotcha. As for cartridge / damnening rod forks.... I have no idea... the forks that came off the f2 is what I'm basically trying to rebuild... Any advice?

94 F2 has cartridge forks.91-93 has dampening rod forks.
5-7 wt for cartridge,20 wt for DR forks.

The visual difference is the caps on the top of the forks. If there is only one adjustment (pre-load only),DR forks it is.

Okay let me inspect them right now. When you say one adjustment? How could you tell if there's two adjustments? Sorry for the newbie questions... I just never done this area and wish not to mess up...

Where could I get the Pro-Honda Suspension Fluid SS-8 10w? Local honda dealer... yes I know. Any other place in mind?

Thanks.

Okay inspected them. They have two adjustments. So its a cartridge as it is suppose to be. So Pro-Honda Suspenion Fluid SS-8 should be fine right?

Inpect and clean the fork pipes and make sure they are clean of rust/pits. A cheap seal driver is a piece of PVC pipe (1/4") if you did know already. The cheapest speciality tool in my tool box.
