Neutral switch possible issues

So, recently the neutral light does not come on at all. When i start the bike in neutral and put it into first with the clutch in, it starts to creep forward and i am unable to take it out of gear without shutting the bike off. I've started diagnosing things like the wiring. I'm still looking for my multi meter, so i'm unable to test continuity until then. I unplugged the neutral wire and removed the neutral swich and a bunch of fluid came out, it sure smelled like fuel, but i'm not 100% sure what it was. Can anyone enlighten me? (i hope this isn't a ridiculous question)

Sounds like a mechanical problem, either with the clutch or transmission...

man check your clutch cable, maybe its got streched out and needs to be replaced

The cable seems to be ok, but what was the fluid that came out when i pulled the neutral switch?

It should have been oil, if your oil smells like fuel your rings are shot... If your oil is contaminated with fuel it could be messing with your clutch/transmission as the weight of your oil is now considerably lighter.

Do a compression check with the engine hot, then change your oil and see if that helps with the shifting.
