at the risk of sounding stupid, i am new to this, have a 94 cbr 600 f2 and was wondering if there is a fuel filter and if so where is it?

 

no fuel filter stock from factory...

 

In the tank, the fuel passes through a strainer as it goes through the petcock. You can see this strainer that looks like a rod from the tank opening.

 

strainer, yes... filter, no.

 

The "strainer" is the filter... lol. Whatever name you want to give it, it is essentially your filter. If you suspect an issue with the filter, just pop off your tank, drain it, unscrew the petcock at the bottom and you will see a plastic tube screen. Clean it and flush the tank.
