Default Need clutch help

I am currently trying to swap out my shift forks. I have the oil pan off, and the clutch cover off as well. Motor is out of the bike for ease of access but I cant figure out how to get the locking nut on the clutch assembly off of there. I can get the rest after that but I just cant figure out how to get the nut off.. Any suggestions or maybe the tools I would need for this job?

If I use an impact will that be enough force to loosen the nut before the clutch and gears start spinning with it?

Yes, that is the purpose of an impact wrench. This method is tried tested and true, but should it fail, put it in 2nd gear and have somebody hold the rear brake.
