wow got the fairings on and the bike decides to not run right.rrrrghg. now it would start but if i gave it gas, try to takeoff, or remove some choke the bike dies. any ideas?

 

There are other threads that cover this but your main culprits are gunk in carbs, bad plugs, bad plug wires etc.. I had a Helluva time with mine and after taking the carbs apart 3 or 4 times, I forget now, it turned out to be spark plugs. Ugh!

 

i figured out the problem. when i put the fairings on yesterday i noticed a hose that was split. i bought a double male repair piece and put the 2 peices of hose together. i pulled those back apart today and it runs fine. what are these and are they supposed to be like that?

Those are carb breather hoses - leave them unplugged - they're supposed to be open.

Yeah those hoses are where fuel would pour out if say something like a float stuck and the bowls overfilled.

New plastics look sharp!! Also looks like whoever had your bike before threw a lowering link in the rear, or something has been done to lower the rear of the bike a good bit.

If you want it low, that's your call, but I'd recommend sliding the forks down a little to try and correct the geometry change.

 

yeah my friend thought it sat lower than his bike. i like it cause im a short guy. lets me plant my feet flat on the ground.

update!! got my seat covered today. man was that a pain! took me an hour and a half with a blow dryer and 3 staple guns to get it all tidied up. i like the cover though. i got to choose all the colors and they put it together for me. really is a "custom" seat cover. hope ya like

got my new mirrors,bar ends,and rear turn signals. on.w
also got the rear hugger back on. that's a struggle

painted the rear pegs to get an idea of what color back there will look like.

rear fairings are pissin me off they look like crap but i think its the rear undertail section. it is broken so the taillight assembly just wobbles and dangle as it wants. urrghh part by part ill get it together
