i look on cycletrader on a country wide search is not that many f2 for sale and the few they have are over 3500 on a dealer

Paid $2600 for my F3 with the same mileage. $2800 is too much. For your weight, an F2 should be okay. And yes, there is that much of a power difference. The CBR has almost double what either the GS500 or EX500 have.

 

Go see the bike in person, squat down and look closely at the footpegs, fairings, the outside edge of the muffler for scrapes or stickers or new paint.

Indicators the bike was layed down. But at that age, what bike hasn't gone down?

Stickers can hide scratches and cracks in the fairings.

You gotta ride it too, to see how the transmission shifts, how the bike brakes, how the engine sounds and how strong it feels.
