Default Motor Swap

I am really considering on swapping my 94 CBR 600 motor with a newer CBR 600 RR motor. I was just wondering if their are any links on doing so. It dosent seem like the demensions are too awful different. Ive heard of people swapping a 900 motor in it but id rather just go with a 600. If you have any ideas please reply Thanks!

i know anything is possible but i dont think it is that easy to swap a RR engine because the engine mounts and frame dimensions are different i beleive.. but i am not sure. i know how to do the 900 swap so if for some reason you go that way i can offer tips..

i actually made 150.00 by doing the swap because i got a RR engine for 500 and sold my F2 engine for 650.00

what about a f4i or f4 engine. The only reason i would swap isifmine would blow. its got 35,000 on it. I want to keep the bike frame so insurancestays down. everything elseon the bikehas been redone so the motor and trans is the only would be problem

the only problem with the swap is the insurance is cheap but if anything happens and they find out the motor was swapped they wont cover ANYTHING! thats why mine is turning into pretty much a track only bike.

no they dont look at the bike. They go by the frame just like if you swapped a v8 into a 4 cylinder mustang its still a 4 cylinder car.

Nope they don't rally look at the engine. They look more at the cosmetic, and what are the chances that the insurance agent will know that much about motorcycle engines to tell.

Same here--they insured it right over the phone and really didnt ask any questions (ie mods, miles, condition etc)..Full coverage for 12 months was only $266.00
