More starter/battery woes
Morning chaps.
I'm new here so a big Hi to y'all.
Problem. '92 F2. Newish Yuasa battery getting suspiciously weak, so after having picked it up from the shop who'd just replaced the steering-head bearings, I decide to whip out the battery to top it up. Battery is extremely hot and bulgy. EEK! Gave it a charge on an Optimate and battery is still thankfully OK (12.82V across terminals). put it back in and try to start, but then get the dreaded 'cricket' noise. That's the starter relay, right? Replace R/R with an aftermarket one I had lying around, recharge battery, and same thing happens. (There's also Spyball spliced into the loom to complicate things, which I'd rather not have as it's lost it's squeak, but even if I leave the Spyball battery connector off, I still get the same buzzing/fast clicking and low light scenario).
I really need to get this bike working pronto, otherwise it's back to travelling on London's public transport with the great unwashed!
