hi sorry if im in the wrong section new to this.

i have a honda cbr 600 f2. not had it ling but having mega problems with it. it ticked over started fine when i got it but didnt take it on a long test run only in 3nd gear, well since ive had it i took it for a blast and it had a spluttering problem seemed in high gears but after riding it again it does it in most gear when i open the throttle all the way. started to run on 3 cylinders then 2 then cuts out even when riding but only on full throttle tho, anyhow it cut out the other day wen i was on it and wouldnt start again so left it a few minutes tried again and it started on 3 cylinders gave it a good rev and went on to 4. was abit p****d off so gave it some got right up in to 6th gear hi up in the revs! was fine! let off abit and went to give it some again and it spluttered and misfired and vut out again, so far ive changed the plugs, coils air filter. carbs and tank tap and still no change! please help!! really annoying now!

ok, this maybe a long shot, but have you made sure the tank vent hose is clear? Thats the first thing I would check as it is free and easy. You said you have cleaned the carbs correct? Are you sure they are good and clean? Not doubting your ability at all. I just know when I cleaned mine, I cleaned them before cleaning the tank like a dummy, and immediately got more trash in them. Also check your fuel line going to the carbs to make sure its not kinked,

honestly mate tried everything you have mentioned there, and yeah proper went into detail with cleaning the carbs all jets out, all the floats out and sliders everything is nice and free. its just puzzling me why its misfiring wen i let off and back on again after been flat out in 6th

I figured you had, but was worth a shot. Are you sure its misfiring? I mean, skipping spark? Fuel starvation can cause it to miss to and it sounds like a misfire. I'm just trying to narrow down probable causes for this. You have done everything I would have done thus far.

ive been told to have a look at the ignition pick up

might be the R/R they are common weak spot on the F2 (cheap/easy fix if it is the Reg/Rec).

I would test the R/R before tearing into the ignition... the r/r can be tested VERY easily.
