Mid Pipe

I left out my mid pipe and connected my headers to the can. Would that be a problem? I know it would be if i was running just the headers but I have the can connected to it. It sounds really loud for it just missing the mid pipe. It sounds like if I didnt even have the headers on. But you tell me.

Mid pipe? Im not sure on what your talking about... Do you have a slip on muffler? If you have a slip on the "mid pipe" is just a pipe.. if you connected the header to the muffler, I am guessing that you used a piece of pipe. post some pics and this may make more sence...

RE: Mid Pipe

This is the mid pipe I am refering to. Like I said its just temporary while I get a pipe modified for an undertail exhaust. But was hoping that it wouldnt affect the bike not having it there. It does sound like theres something missing. It sounds like the headers arent on right. Oh yeah while I took apart the air filter I noticed it had a K&N sticker on it. Does it obviously mean that theres a K&N Airfilter in there. Is theK&N a certaincolor?

When replying that button allows you to add a pic. You just have to enter in the web address of where ever your picture is located.

Or i think you can put [IMG] ... [/IMG] tags around the address.

the only reason that I can think of why your bike sounds different is that the exhaust systems like that are tuned to a specific length andthat it may be causing turbulance or something in the muffler and could make it sound alot differnt. And you K&N would have a red filter element, however I have seen many other red filter elements. A K&N would probably have a stamp or a part number on the black part somewhere.
good luck

Thanks. So other than the sound, it's not going to affect the engine? I hope not.
