Default lots of gas leaking from carbs!!!Please help!!

So I just purchased my first bike. She's a 93 CBR600f2. I havn't even been able to ride it yet because it leaks so much fuel from the overflow tubes on the carbs, when ever you crank it or let it idle. The previous owner said that I should just be able to clean the float valves and it would fix the issue. So I removed the carb bank and disassembled the float bowl assemblies. The I inspected the float valves and seats, and found them to be good. I submerged the floats in water to check for any holes in the floats and found none. Next I reinstalled the float valves and while holding them in there bores I blew into the fuel inlet tube to see if any air leaked by and found that all valves were sealing very well.

So, then I put it all back together in hopes that the problem fixed itself but she still pukes fuel from the overflow tubes on the carbs.

Now is there anything else I should check? From everything that I've read it sounds like it can be either a float valve sticking or a faulty float. Is there something that I'm overlooking? I just want to ride. Please help.

Thank you for your time,

Drew

Im no expert but it sound like your carburettors are running rich. Very rich.
Have you tried adjusting the mixture / synched the carbs?

Does the bike have the stock exhaust?

Drew, with abike that's probably been sitting for awhile and is now running ethanol based fuel, I am willing to bet your gaskets and o-rings are shot. Ethanol dries out rubber parts.

You need a new carb kit.

I had the same problem with mine when I got it.

I pulled apart the vacuum chambers and float bowl assemblys for each carb and everything looked very clean, like it had been gone through not too long ago. The previous owner said that the bike had a 25k service. there is now 27k on the bike.

Could it just be that the carbs are out of sync and need to be leaned out quite a bit?

Thumbs up

So I went and bought some new float valves and installed them tonight. All seems well now. I let her run for about a half hour. Hopefully tomorrow after work it won't be raining so I can go for my first ride

Thanks,

Drew
