Default Looking to clean up my bike a bit......

Hello guys,

I'm new on the CBR forums, and have recently purchased my bike from my Father. I have been riding it for year, and not that it's officially mine, I can modify it to my liking. It's a 1993 CBR600F2......all stock, except for the stock muffler being cut down and re-welded.....gives it a clean, custom look and it's a bit louder. I have just purchased a smoke windscreen and wanted to do a customer fender elimination setup, and pay use the stock turn signals, have yet to decide that. I have considered lowering it with the lowering links available, as well as moving the triple tree clamp down the fork tubes.....but how does that make the feel/ride of the bike? I don't want to put much money into this things cause I doubt i will get anything more out of it. Also,I liked the look of the 1994rear monoshock w/ separate reservoir and considered swapping mine out. Is there any performance advantage to the newer shock? I like it simple for the looks.....with the separate reservoir mountd nearthe left-rear footpeg. Any other "custom" cheap mods, please let me know!

I'm not one to like bikes that look like lowriders unless you are taking it to the strip and going the 1/4 mile. Anyway, If I was upgrading the shock I think the F3 shock will keep the ride height similar depending on what year you get. I know I bought an F4 shock from a 99 or 00 and it raised the bike up a bit but provided a much improved ride. I also notice that it leans over more on the kickstand.

Lowering it will keep the geometry the same, so you shouldn't have problems with suspension, but you will have less ground clearance and will scrape the pegs more often.

There are quite a few things you can do to the ride that will clean it up...Do a search here on "fender eliminator","new ***", and "lowering link".
Good Luck!
