I just bought my first bike 1991 CBR 600 F2, and i need some maintenance advise. The bike seems to run fine, but i think i should get an overall tune up done.

Does anyone have any advise on what to get upgraded, what parts need tuned up, how much an overall tuneup will cost?? Also, should i try to find parts myself and install them or go to a dealership?

USE LARGER FONT!!! LOL.

Do it yourself. Change the oil/filter.....replace the plugs.......replace/clean air filter.....lube all cables and adjust properly.......clean chain or replace chain/sprockets if bad......if you do that then gear it down a little say -1 up front. Bleed the front brakes.....check the pads/replace if necessary.......replace the tires if they are old (that will make it feel like new again)............wash it...............set static sag for YOU.........check all the lights over and make sure they work.........adjust the shifter to fit where it's comfortable to YOU..........enjoy!!! Take the MSF......or sign up for a track day...........that will improve your riding 10 fold in a weekend.............

Thanks for the help guys.... Any advise on where i can buy all these parts? Do they sell them at dealerships or do i have to order all oniline?

 

Also, it takes my bike around 6 tries to start if its been sitting idle for a day.... I this normal for a carb bike? Is there a way to improve this?

did you flood the carbs maybe?
