Default How much oil do I put in??

I have online here that we need 3.5 quarts of oil when we change it. But the dealership says 3.1 quarts. Who is right?

Would you recommend Lucas oil stabilizer for our motors too?

there is a difference depending on if you replace the oil filter as well as the oil (you should). use the search function to find the right numbers.... something like 3.2/3.6

Almost 3 3/4 quarts with the filter change. I dont know why dealers say the amount it takes without a filter change bcuz thats just stupid if ya dont change the filter when the oil gets changed. Put some rags on the headers so you dont get to much oil on them. I like to fill the filter with a little bit of oil before i put it on so it doesnt starve for oil like it would if the filter went on dry. Its messy but i think its worth it.

on a sidenote.... I used to run almost 4 1/2 quarts in my stunter but that was so it didnt starve for oil.

Ya, I planned on changing the filter too. I think 3.5 quarts won't hurt too much.

I bought 4 quarts. I used some to dampen my new filter before installing and poured the rest in. The level seems good. Id say it is right around ~3.7 quarts.

I Found a piece of cardboard bent into a v works real well for getting the oil to miss the headers, but i also dont have lower fairings on, so this may be the issue as well.
