Somebody tryed to fit a 1000rr tail section on cbr f2 ? I have an oportunity to buy 1000rr fairings set with headlight and windscreen for 150E.... so i want to make it my project for the winter...?

 

Hello all ! I was absent here for some time....today ai finished my conversion to 1000 RR front fairings. i spraypainted because in a cuple of weeks i will profesional paint them and i dont want to throw away money...all fairings are Honda originals and are made from plastic ... if somebody wants ..( i can teach him how to fix fairings cheap and very good and strong bond) .... i will post some photos ....waiting for advices , ideas..... thank you for looking ! O...i allmost forgot ! I have a question ! I made some changes to the wireing to instal two H7 bulbs , and i have a little problem...when i hit the highbeam button..... they dont light as they should....they give verry poor light.... if i install two xenon kits? What do you think? How can i fix this?

Nop...the 1000 RR fairing is stock... no changes to that... i had to make some custom side panels from the old F2 front fairing to bind them together ! The 1000 RR front is bigger then the 600 RR so i could use my old gauges and frame, i just cut out the F2 headlight suports ! I was planning to change the tail to (i like the Ducati 1098 tail ) but i am out of money so i will make it a winter project i think ! In the winter i want to change the front end to with an upside down one with radial brakes and next year maybe the motor to an f4i or 900RR ! I read about front end conversion.... GSXR 750 fron 1995 is a direct swap (i hope they are right XD ) Sorry for my bad english ! Ride safe !

 

Hi allz, long time i was absent here ! I am bringing good news, my front end finaly arrived to my workshop ! The donnor bike its an Aprilia. The forks are in very good condition, brembo calipers, brembo master cylinder , racing lines, steering dumper and aftermarket quick throttle ! Now i am looking for bearings here in Romania so i can put it on my bike ! I think it will be a clean swap, just some special bearings ! I have a not so good picture with the forks if you want to see ! Its very cold here so i dont know when i can start working , i cant heat up the garage ! Sry for my bad english !

 

Hey! Did you got the headlight issue sorted? You said they give poor light? Did you put a relay in there or just split the original high beam wire? In that case the bulbs arent getting enough power and you really want to put a relay in there to take the added stress off the light switch and the original wires.

 

I bought a pear of HID's that power up direct from battery and use headlight wires just to start/stop the headlight, now its oki ! Thank you for your answer ! Now i'm trying to mount the forks, its kind of hard because the aprilia rsv stem is thicker then the Cbr's ! I am searching for bearings , if i cant find them , i will remove stem from aprilia rsv and try to fit the cbr stem in ! It will be a bitch to do that but, thats life, i got a very good deal for the forks so .... after the weather worms up a little bit i will start working on it and keep you guys posted with better pics (i hope i will get a camera until i start working ) Ride safe and how we say here in Romania "Asfalt uscat !" Wish I could put HIDs in mine... Well, I COULD but the "D" approved lamps cost ridiculous amounts and as a professional trucker I kind of frown upon those who put them in the original lamps cause it's illegal here and blinds the oncomers...
