Default Help: Electrical issue

So, I went to turn on my bike today, with no gas tank on it (f it makes a difference). I turned the key to on, hit the starter once, it gave one loud click, and then everything just shut right off.

I figured the battery must have been dead, or dead-ish, so I took it out, charged it. Put it back in, and when I turned the key back on, nothing.

I checked the fuse panel by the front, all fuses are okay. So I checked the 30amp fuse off the positive terminal, still okay.

Any other big fuses that can pop? would a bad rectifier shut the whole thing down? Grounding problem to investigate?

HELP!!

Thanks,

Check the charge on the battery with a voltmeter, it could be pooched and not holding any juice.

The clicking sound was likely the starter relay which will go click click click when there's not enough juice to power the starter.

There's a start, keep us posted.

I had almost the same problem...except mine died when I pulled in the clutch...I charged it enough to get the bike across town, it turned out to be the regulator/rectifier...is yours the oem R/R...mine had metal that was dripping out of it...the oem honda R/R has no heat sinks and is kinda small, the electro-sports industries R/R is super gnarly...

Anyways there's my .02 cents....good luck let us know what the outcome is

Well.. Had the battery on the charger all night last night. Looked at it today, still trying to charge the battery. I would assume, without a meter, that its pooched.

Picking up new battery and rectifier (good to have on hand I think with any 15 year old bike) and will see if that solves it. I hope so.

I have the same problem..I read that the R/R with a 5 wire off of the GSXR 750's work on F2's but from what year 750 do I need the R/R from?? Cuz the 06-09 600-750's have two plugs coming out of it..and mine only has one? Please help! I'm trying to get one off of Ebay!

It's the older gixxers, I do not know what years work but I believe it's probably something from the 90's to early 2000.

The one with 2 plugs will not work, you need the one plug one with 5 wires on it..
