is this a good deal??
ok, im looking to get my first bike.
my buddy just bought a 1993 cbr600 f2 off antoher one of my friends for $2200 about 3 wks ago.
the bike has 36,000 on it, but these were mostly all highway miles. a few days ago the rectifier went out and melted the harness connector (common problem i guess??) the bike is practically perfect. these only on scratch on the whole bike and you honestly have to look for it to even find it. the bike also needs a new rear tire.
i can pick the bike up for $1600.
im thinking about hardwiring a new rectifier into place by eliminating the harness connector and using some connector to connect straight to the rectifier then fill it in with some silicone to seal it all up.
my question is....is this a good deal and is this a good way to fix the rectifier problem???
whats a good tire to get to replace the rear??

RE: is this a good deal??
heres a picture of the bike, i went ahead and bought it today. she runs for about 10 minutes and then dies. she gets me around the block a few times and then i gotta get home and plug it back in to charge. im working on getting a gsx-r rectifier and use that, but i realized that that's what it already had and it went out. someone converted it before. but the harness melted so ill get another one and just hardwire it in.
bindelsf2 im taking your advice and will be picking up a dunlop qualifier sometime this week for about $120.
