The lowest that works. Regular here for my F4, and I would imagine that the F2 would have less of a requirement for octane than the F4 (if it were to go either way).

Without going into the octane discussion, which I'm sure you're aware of, the other gas octanes at the pump are the same gas (no cleaner or better for the engine) with just higher octanes. If your engine is running hotter or higher compression (preasure and heat are related) then you might find you need higher octane... and if you hear the knocking sounds you know what to do.

F2's require 92+ octane gas because of their compression, which I believe is 10.6:1. If you look at the sticker on your frame, it'll tell ya to use 92+ octane to prevent pre-ignition.

+1 on the previous post. Why wouldn't you use high octane anyway since it only costs about $10 to fill up? If you use low octane gas it will only save you about 90 cents per full tank. If someone was thirsty and asked you for a drink would you give them vinegar or water?

People can post all they want about all octane gas being the same but all I know is that my F2 runs like rotten A$$ on 87 and like a wet dream on 92.

I use 93 octane, but just because I have to. My manual says 91 octane, but we only have 87, 89, and 93 here in TN, so I just put in the 93 to be on the safe side.

My bike actually runs better on 87... no sign of detonation even topped out... wonder why.

I have asked and read and only got more confused, Its ridiculous! Some say 87, some say 91 and some say 93! I know that half of them are laying and don’t know what they are talking about. But who? on the other post some some say the manual calls for 87 and some say 91. 50%yes-50%no, someone is lying!?
Dose anyone realy know what the owners manual say and have the manual with them? what does it say?? 91 or 87?
Help!! what should I use on my f2??
come on! please don’t reply if you are not certain, it only makes it more confusing. thanks!!
