fuel petcock

Dumb question.... on the fuel petcock, is the reserve part of the tank supposed to be pointing up or down?

If im not mistaken up is the reserve..
i dont have the markings on my motorcycle anymore, but ill check the manual just to make sure, but im confident thats right

Reserve is up and on is down, off is horizontal.
