Unhappy Fuel Leak... Need suggestions

I took my fuel tank off for about a week. I put the tank back on, hooked-up the end of the fuel line that I removed and started the engine, but fuel leaks around the fuel lines that connect to the carbs. I didn't even disconnect these ends of the fuel lines, so I don't understand why they would be leaking. Any ideas? Thanks

Well, first and foremost, did you at least find where the leak is, and fix it? It could be a dried, cracked hose, or just not seated fully.

Are you talking about the lines bringing fuel IN to the carbs, or the float bowl drain lines that let the gas out?

There are no cracks in the hoses and I put them back on real snug, so the hoses should be seated fine. There is one hose that comes off the fuel shutoff valve and it splits into two hoses (via fuel joint pipe). These two hoses bring the fuel to the carburetor; the fuel is leaking from both hoses where they attach to the carburator.

I think the hose clamps have lost their bite. Thought it was a more serious prob, but I guess not!!!!

. . .maybe. Pull the "splitter" hose off, and check for obstructions. There may be something blocking fuel flow, and the pump is building enough pressure in the line to cause it to spit past the clamps and leak. Otherwise get some of those automotive clamps that use the screw to tighten, and replace the junk "paperclip" ones with those.
