Fuel

Hello all

2 questions for ya if you can help.

How many miles roughly should a full fuel tank get me ? (1991 f2)

And how far does the reserve tank get you if you need it ?

Thanks

Leigh

I would think you should get close to 200 miles before needing reserve. As long as your not ripping on it. The reserve probably wont get much more than 20 miles or so. But.............Listen to this. I top my tank off clear full (94 f2), go out on the race track, full tilt boogie for 3 15min sessions. Half way through my 4th session I needed to flip to reserve! That comes out to about 17ish miles per gallon! But on the street and not ripping on it you should get at least 40 miles per gallon probably more.

Or you could fill you tank up, set your trip meter to zero, go for a nice long ride. Fill up again, and check you mpg. Then do the math based on how big the tank is.

My 94 F2 gets about 170-175 out of the main tank 3.6 gallons.
then about another 25 out of the reserve .6 gallons.
At 201 miles I'm usually coasting into a gas station or walking.

Thanks lads

So looks like I'm running rich then, I think I'm getting about 140 miles out of a full tank before I use reserve.

I dont think I'm riding it that hard to be honest, I'm a newbie :-)

What should I do next ?

What modifications are done to the bike, or is it stock? I would check the air filter, plugs and see what jets are in the carbs, to start with.
