Default flaming exhaust

I'm new, I just bought my first bike and it's a junker, but I got it for $600. I got the bike running, but it won't idle, it runs great above 3k, but as soon as it starts idling down it dies. It will not start without starting spray and afterfires when I start cranking on the throttle. I synched the carbs as best I could at 3 grand and it does run pretty smooth, in the upper rpm range. I've looked in the manuals and am thinking slow circuit, but don't really know enough to tell for sure or what to do if that is the problem. Thanks in advance for any help

did you clean the carbs??? really clean them??? if it sat for too long it's best to get new jets because they clog easily and sometimes, they won't unclog (even in an ultrasonic bath)...

I opened up the bowls and shot some carb cleaner in there, but thats about it. It did idle right after I bought it after I replaced the fuel joint, but then it sat for a month and all the fuel evaporated out of it because I didn't have the fuel cap fully closed.

Yeah man, I pulled the carb off and opened 'er up, pulled the jets and couldn't blow through a single slow jet, I'm pretty hopeful. I cleaned them well enough to see light through and now they are soaking in carb cleaner, I'm pretty optimistic.
