I need to replace both left and right upper cowl fairings. I'm trying to figure out what the best option is. I've found a couple of vendors selling full sets of fiberglass uppers for about $100 + random shipping cost.

Any thoughts on this? It's just about the final piece that I need to complete my F2.

 

If it was me, I wouldn't. Mine has fiberglass front and it sucks hardcore. It is very difficult to work with and doesn't give much so it was difficult to take on and off. Not that you'll have to do it often, but once was enough for me.

 

what site did you find fairings on for 100 bucks?

 

They're all over ebay for 110. But...

Fiberglass sucks. Hardcore. Personal experience here. Doing it all over again, I'd get some beat-up ABS parts, sludge the scratches in, and repaint. Would have sucked way less than just putting my f-glass stuff on my bike.

 

They are VERY inflexible too.

 

Mine looked great for about a week, then they started to crack and chip Fiberglass FTL! get the plastic.

 

If your going for a cheap fix it will be fine but you will never be truly happy with it if your going for a good looking bike. The fit is horrible and they are miserable to work with. I ordered one of ebay and it was a 3 piece fiberglass and there own parts didnt even fit together, I then ordered a one piece and its a pita to put on and off it cracks as you do it, the other fairings dont fit up to worth a crap. But it is cheaper than plastic
