I took my soldering iron to it today and I think it'll be okay! I started "tacking" it and I couldn't believe how strong it was so I just kept going. I just heated up every crack from the back side of the panel and it's capable of being bolted back on. Of course the cracks are still visible on the front but I don't want to bother with paint now so I'll probably leave it. Maybe a strategically placed sticker will cover the worst of it.

Thanks all for the advise, I think I'm sold on abs welding now

Good job!

It is amazing how strong the weld is. Once it's eventually painted, you'll never know the difference

Yeah, its a pretty neat trick isn't it? Glad it worked for you, now you'll have a solution for when anything breaks around the house.
