If you got enough cash, you can swap in an F3 motor. its almost a direct swap. Ive been seeing F3 motors starting at $300-600.

Wow! I actually really like that idea, but the f3 motor is fuel injected right? So does that mean that I need to get the wiring harness and computer for that motor? Does the f3 motor fun better than the f2 or is the reason foractually swapping the motors out just becuase of the fact that there are moreaftermarket partsavailable than for the f2. Thanks Adam

Nooo... F3 is not FI, it's carbed, but puts out about 10hp more.

Just newer technology.

f3 motors are basically the same the only difference is the carbs are slightly different/lighter internals and higher compression via ram air. to me its not worth the hassle unless your a serious tracker. a good exuast and jet kit will put u on par with an f3. hershey: no i havent but iam going to school to be a motochanic so i know what this ones all about. i bought a dj kit instead and then went through buying all the custom bits before realizing this kit had alot of them.

Would a set of carbs from an f3 be a worth while investment then? I can get them cheap off of ebay I think. Let me know.
Thanks Adam

I'd stick with the stock components and improve on them, the F2 carbs were set up for the F2 motor - same goes for the F3... If you dont really know what you're doing bolting on parts from different bikes will just make your bike worse and unreliable.

^^good advice.
is it possible? yes is it just a matter of swwaping out the carbs no. f3s have ram air there for significant rigging would have to be done to your airbox to make it work not to mention the addition of the f3 fuel pump to keep up with the greater amount of air being chaneled.
yor best bet: gear down, jet, good slip (full exuast just aint worth the money for 2hp) ignition adv, stiffen your suspension and last but not least WEIGHT REDUCTION!
ive put too much elbowgrease/money into my bike trying to catch rr's when i coulda saved all the money and bought a perfectly nice mid 90's 900rr[:@]

Id suggest hitting an 1/8 mile track and really work on your reaction and 60' times. So far, I've run a 7.29 in the 1/8, with a 1.71 60'. I launch at between 8 and 9k, shift at 12.5-13K, and try to keep the front tire about 3" off the ground through 1st and 2nd. [8D]

If i was you i would do an aftermarket slip-on, wheelie sprocket, extend the swingarm, get a stg1 jet kit (there on ebay right now for $99) and of course a K&N air filter. I have all of these (except extended swingarm) on my 91 cbr 600 and i hang with cbr1000's R1's and gsxrs1000 all day long, well at least taking off through 1st and 2nd sometimes 3rd before they smoke me! lol But ya just my 2cents on the whole thing... Good luck!
