F2 vs F3 horsepower difference?
#31
Well, I can't speak for those that posted in this thread 4 years ago, but for those of us with recent posts in it, I don't think we're missing any vital facts at all. Yes, the F3 had a little more horsepower in it's first year, and near the end, it had as much as 5 more, no one is denying this, as a matter of fact, I think the general consensus here, among the recent posts, is that the F2 was an amazing bike, and it got even better with the F3... those are my thoughts anyway!
It seems that the initial reason for the original poster posing the question about the difference in power, was to see if he was going to have issues keeping up with an F3, on his F2.
Some of the responses he got, I don't agree with - some were bagging on the F3, and some said the F3 would be far superior to the F2... yes the F3 is better, in several ways, but the differences are nominal enough (comparing stock bike to stock bike), that even with equally skilled riders on both, neither one is going to full-on "smoke" the other!
The on track comparison really depends on the rider and setup, regardless of what bikes are being compared, not to mention, it depends on the track as well. I've had track days where I have passed the entire field of riders in my group, in just a 20 minute session, and this includes mostly newer bikes, some brand new, and a lot of liter bikes, 750s, and big V-twins.
Anyway, this has been an unnecessarily "long winded" response, but the bottom line is, were with you Jeff, the F2 rocked, and the F3 rocked even more!
