f2 running ****ty,no gaskets.
please help. ive just got a cbr 600f2 1994 model and the last owner replaced the down pipes and did not put any gaskets back in.the exhaust is blowing bad and the bike is misfiring very bad until i get to very hi revs.do you think if i replaced the gaskets it would solve the problem or is it some thing else. the bike has a art end can and starts first time.please some body help.

RE: f2 running ****ty,no gaskets.
No exhaust gasket will cause problems, potentially engine damaging problems if left long enough.
Lean conditions (too much air, not enough fuel [caused by adding free-flowing exhaust or airbox modifications]) will also cause "popping" from the exhaust, this is remedied by rejetting the carbs and properly adjusting the idle-air screws on the carbs.
But if there is no exhaust gasket at all, replace that first.

It's more than likely you'll need to rejet it, you will be very happy with how it runs afterwards (crisper throttle response, more efficient delivery of power, and recovered lost power)
I added a slip-on exhaust to my bike and it needed rejetting, but it was money well spent.

Re-jetting is only needed with some exhaust systems/slip ons. A good shop will be able to test the exhaust and idle with the bike running so that they will be able to tell you if it needs adjustment.
As mentioned, get those gaskets in there first and make sure the packing in the muffler is good. I've been told that in addition to the noise from bad packing, the pressures are changed and could affect performance. I wasn't told this by a shop, but by a rider with 30+ years experience ontrackstreet. So, it may not be true, but it can't hurt to be sure.
