F2 Rear Light mounting
Does anyone have any pictures or schematics on how the rear tail light assembly mounts to the frame? When I bought my F2, all of the rear parts were in a box. I am not real sure how it mounts. Any info would be helpful.

tail light mounts to the rear fender not the frame |
Based on that picture, I am guessing that I have a rear fender elimination kit installed. I have a metal insert in between the frame rails. I also have 2 aluminum blocks where I think the rear tail light asembly bolts to. I was not sure that it went there since the grommet holes for the rear part of the side fairings are hitting the outer part of the frame. Just seemed like something was missing. Maybe that is the way it should be. Guess I need to start trying to make it work. Thanks for the link though.

OK. I took a few pictures. As you can see, there are blocks where it looks like the light mount bolts to. The last set of holes in the mounting bracket has the threaded holes drilled out, so it looks like it mounts at that point. The grommets for the side fairing still hit the frame. Looks like a home made eliminator kit. You can also see the turn signals are mounted to the underside of the light. Let me know what you think.

i cant do it tonight cuz my wife is at work and has the camera in her purse. but tommorrow i can go out and take some photos of mine for comparison.
you said it came in a box of parts, what other parts are there, seems to me like there is a lot of pieces missing. |
Looks like you are missing your rear fairing stay. I am in the process of Frankensteining mine for my 98 F3 tail convert. It holds your tail light and the middle piece of your tail section fairings.

After digging through all of the parts and trail fitting, I think this is how it should be. Does not look too bad (bike is still in black primer for the most part).
