DIY: fork seals
 

Ok I don't know about you all, but when I can save $150 replacing the fork seals on my own, I'm all for it. I've got the general steps to do it, but was wondering if you all had some model specific steps... I'm planning on doin this soon since I just picked up the parts, so any help would be appreciated.

I know it has been covered on this site - do a search for fork seals, on the F2 forum, and see what you come up with.
I know I've seen it here at some point, but since I already knew how to do them before joining this forum, I didn't make a note of when I saw it posted.

Also, do yourself a favor, if you don't already have a manual, I would recommend picking up a Haynes or Clymer manual, for the bike... Haynes is my go-to for most things I can't remember specs on, but either one will walk you through stuff like this.

Follow the Clymer manual to the letter and all is good.

Also - buy Honda OEM seals - save yourself the trouble of having to do it again because you used another brand. I used "Leakproof" brand the first time around - they leaked inside of 4 months. OEM's went in the next time, and they've been fine ever since.

I use AllBalls bearings and seals for everything, and I've never had any trouble, and they're usually cheaper than OEM, but I have heard as well, that Leakproof is definitely.... not, uhm, leak-proof!
