Default Crunchy Front Break

Ok so crunchy is a strange way to describe it, but when I squeeze the front break it will slow the bike but if I apply much pressure it will stutter in. I mean the handle will kind of pop and allow me to squeeze it further instead of just holding solid and feeling firm as I squeeze. Anyone experienced this before?

I had a similar issue. I took my bike to the shop for a new rear tire andthe technician that installed the tire took a little test ride. When he came back, without saying a word, went and grabbed a spray can of grease and lubed up the front brake lever (including that little part that pushes into the reservoir). Now the front brake is nice and smooth. Worth checking...

+1. Had the same problem. I just put some oil right where the lever pushes into the reservoirthis pastspring. Still works great. In hindsight, though, I would use non petrolium based oil (to reduce the chances of rotting the rubber seal). That being said, regular motor oil worked fine for me.
