a couple questions
So i bought a 94 F2 for 700 cash. good deal i think. But i do have a couple of small issues. it has a slight dent in the front rim, needs a clutch and a rectifier from what i am told and needs access panels on both fenders along with the carbs cleaned. The big issue is the lower leftfront engine mount is cracked. Heres my question for you folks : I cant find a place for the access panels, Where can i get the rim reworked, and is this cracked motor mount a big issue? I have the small cracked piece from the mount as well.
I appreciate all help.
Thanks

RE: a couple questions
the access panels can easily be found on ebay. I would suggest a new front rim.. they go for about $100 thru a bone yard or ebay. as for the mount.. I assume that it has broken a chunck off of the motor.. if it can be tig welded back on easily and done well i would do that .. otherwise I would start looking for a new engine.

RE: a couple questions
thanks. I have been searching through ebay and cant seem to find one that would work. I mean i would prefer to get one of the same color and not have to pay like 50 bucks each and then have to paint it and by the stickers. The engine mount is a clean break in two seperate peices going diagnally up towards the motor. I believe it can be welded but i know nothing about welding and wouldnt even want to try otherwise i would most likely burn a hole in the whole block. Any ideas on places that would weld an aluminium motor?

RE: a couple questions
ill only comment on the rim. but depending on how it is. and the tire. ussualy are replaced 1ce a season. i would think depending on how many kms. or miles your doing a year.. but a new rim. which would give you an opurnity for souping it up if you want.. becuase the bikes only got 2 wheels. i would think if you have any signs of warping still after repair.. its going to give you a uneven ride. or possible stability issue.

RE: a couple questions
I would not mess with trying to fix the rim. if it is not 100% you could have all kind of prob. from bar shake at high speed to uneven tire wear. I do not think it is safe it would be like ridding with as plug tire in my mind. As for the panels go to a bike bone yard you should be able to find them their cheep, and that way if they are not the correct color you will have the money to get them painted.
